THIRD-PLACED ABBEY GITTINGS HELPS NOVA SE TITLE HAT-TRICK

NCAA Division 2 women's champions for the third year in a row - Nova Southeastern University of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Abbey Gittings from Tamworth, Staffordshire finished third in a field of 72 at the NCAA Division 2 women's championship - and her college, Nova Southeastern, Fort Lauderdale, Florida won the team title for the third year in a row.
Nova SE dominated the four-round championship and achieved a 1-2-3 finish with Taylor Collins winning the individual title with a 10-under-par total of 278 - eight shots ahead of team-mate Sandra Changkija with Abbey Gittings, who was lying second with one round to go, finishing third on 287 after a last-round 76 to Sandra's 69. Abbey had a hole in one at the 17th (145yd) in her third round.
Abbey has also been named to the NGCA First Team All American for NCAA Division 2
Another English student in the Nova SE team was Nicole Whitmore from Milton Keynes. Nicole finished joint 36t on 314.
Nova SE (1157) won the team title by the handsome margin of 28 shots from runners-up Rollins (1185) with Florida Southern (1196) third of 12 teams.
