THE BEST OF BRITISH AND IRISH GOLFERS IN WINDY SOUTH WALES


The best female amateur golfers in Great Britain and Ireland are gathered at Royal Porthcawl Golf Club on the (very) windy south coast of Wales for the biennial Vagliano Trophy two-day contest against the cream of the Continent of Europe. For the first time an Under-16 girls' team match will be played in conjunction with the main event.
Following their victory in the Astor Cup at Fairhaven GC, Lancashire last week, the GB and I team will go into the Vagliano Trophy match on a high.
Kelly Tidy, Pamela Pretswell, Holly Clyburn, Kelsey MacDonald Amy Boulden who made up the victorious GB and I team of five who beat Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Canada at Fairhaven, are joined by Ireland's Leona Maguire, Danielle McVeigh (Irish champion)  and Stephanie Meadow plus Scottish champion Louise Kenney for the Vagliano Trophy match.

There is no charge for admission or car parking and spectators will be welcomed to provide the galleries worthy of this international golf occasion.
The opening ceremony will start at 6pm on Thursday.

FRIDAY
Teeing off at 10min intervals between 8am and 8.30am
Vagliano Trophy: Four foursomes (players' names announced on Friday evening).
Teeing off at 10min intervals between 8.40am and 9am.
Under-16 Girls International Match: Three foursomes (players' names announced on Friday evening).
Teeing off at 8min intervals between 1pm and 1.56pm:
Vagliano Trophy: Eight singles (players' names announced at lunchtime Friday).
Teeing off at 8min intervals between 2.04pm and 2.44pm
Under-16 Girls International Match: Six singles (players' names announced at lunchtime Friday).

SATURDAY
Same times and format as Friday.

CLOSING CEREMONY, PRESENTATION OF VAGLIANO TROPHY at 6.30pm


+The Vagliano Trophy match is played every second year i.e. between the Curtis Cup years.
