CHRISTOPHER LAMB WINS ABERDEEN SCHOOLBOYS' TITLE

Christopher Lamb representing Bridge of Don Academy won the Paul Lawrie Aberdeen Schools’ Scratch Trophy at Murcar Links. In very wet, testing conditions, one-handicapper, Christopher spread-eagled the field with a level par 71. Runner-up, Grant Joss of Cults Academy was three shots back on 74.
In his round, Christopher had four birdies - at the fourth, ninth, eleventh and 12th. But on the debit side he had a double bogey six at the 15th and single shots dropped at the sixth and 14th. Grant was six over after ten holes but battled back with birdies at the 11th, 14th, 17th and 18th to cover the inward half in 33 and claim runners-up spot by one shot from Andrew Carrell.
The Paul Lawrie Girls’ Championship was won by Molly Stewart of St Margaret’s. Despite a quadruple bogey eight at the fifteenth, the 15-handicapper still had a 3 shot cushion over Kirsten Pryde of Cults Academy and last year’s winner, Lauren Watson.

Eight handicapper, Ross Green of Robert Gordon’s College lifted the Paul Lawrie Handicap Trophy with a net 69, to beat St Machar’s Christopher Somers and Mark Rimmer by one shot.

The Paul Lawrie Schools’ Handicap (13 to 24) Trophy was won by Harlaw Academy’s Rory Watt with a net 61. The 21-handicapper had three birdies, at the 4th, 10th and 13th, in his round. The scratch trophy was won by Rowan Mackie of Cults Academy with a six over par 76.
