TOP SEEDS UCLA BEATEN IN NCAA MATCH-PLAY

Eighth seeded Duke University beat No 1 qualifiers UCLA in the first round (quarter-finals) of the match-play stages of the NCAA Division 1 men's championship at Karsten Creek, Stillwater in Oklahoma.
Other results:
Georgia beat Illinois.
Augusta State bt Georgia Tech.
Oklahoma State bt Ohio State.

Golfstat states that each of the matches finished 3.5 to 1.5, which would be an amazing coincidence.
But the Americans seem to have great trouble understanding the results recorded in match-play. Brought up on stroke-play, they are flummoxed by how match-play "works."
