The 2011 East of Scotland Girls Championship got underway at Kirkcaldy G.C this afternoon with exciting and closely fought quarter-final matches .
The first match saw the top seed, Gabrielle Macdonald, beat Alexis Hutton by 5 and 4. Both girls are in their last year as juniors and neither had taken the championship title before.
