What fantastic scoring - imagine having a net 57 and coming third by 10 shots! Is net 47 by 13 y o Calum Black (pictured) a record? Seven players got their handicaps reduced - substantially.
Six clubgolfers Cameron Douglas, Roslyn Griffiths, Conner Liddell, Rory Napier, Catherine Walker and one more also did six holes. Two 10 y o clubgolfers, Archie Anderson and Lewis Munro, also did 18 holes for the first time.
Rohan Chapman-Liddell, Jamie Wallace, Jed Clements, Hannah McKie, James Clark and Gregor Griffiths also played and all put in 18 hole cards for handicap. James has just joined has been given a handicap of 24 and Hannah will be getting hers. Remember 3 cards required - one in a medal, two signed by other members
We also had 13 older juniors across at Royal Troon playing in the inaugural Byrne Howard Trophy on Troon Portland (the first ever mixed competition held by Royal Troon and with the Juniors being hosted in the Smoking Room) and young William Ladbrooke playing in Alasdair Good's relaunched Wee Wonders at Carnoustie http://www.weewondersgolf.com/
We are also running three golfing "boot camps" this July for members + clubgolfers - three days with pro Ian Rowlands involving nine hours of coaching and the supervised play each afternoon with Ian giving expert input on course management and short game - all for £70 with a generous contribution from Gullane GC
