Laura Murray beat Lynne Terry 3 and 1. Lynne started well with birdies
on the 2nd and 4th. They halved the 7th with birdies amd Laura had
a birdie on 8th. Laura was 1 up at the turn, won the 16th with a
birdie and then won the 17th to win the match.
Sammy Vass was 6 up at the 8th, having scored birdies at the 2nd and
7th. She lost the 9th so was 5 up at the turn, won the 12th with a par
to go dormie then halved the 13th to win the match
Carol Wilson was 3 down after 8 and won the 9th to get back to 2 down
at the turn against Kimberley Beveridge. She lost the 11th but won all
other holes on the back 9 to win 3 and 2.
Fiona Hay and Eileen Mauchline had a very tight match with no more than
1 shot between them. Eileen went 1 up at the 15th and Fiona sunk an
excellent putt at the 17th to stay in the match. She then went on to
win the 18th to square the match and won the 19th.
It has been a bit showery this morning. The first match this afternoon
went out at 12noon in the sunshine but we are now in the middle of a
heavy shower which hopefully won't last too long. The forecast for
this afternoon was very good but they don't always get it right.

AFTERNOON REPORT
Laura Murray beat Sammy Vass on the 18th green at the end of a very close final match.
At the 4th they halved with birdies after Sammy sank a
25ft putt. At the turn Laura went one up when she birdied the 9th.
She had birdies at the 10th and 16th to go 2 up, having lost the 14th.
Sammy birdied the 17th to get it back to one down and they halved the 18th for Laura to win the Gifford Trophy
In the handicap final for the Angus Salver, Fiona Hay was four up at the turn against Carol Wilson and was only 1 over par gross at the 9th. Fiona then went on to win the next three holes.
It has all gone very well and the afternoon turned out to be excellent
with the sun shining all the time.
