ASHLEIGH GRAHAM WINS PRINCE OF WALES CHALLENGE TROPHY

Essex teenager Ashleigh Greenham held off a strong challenge from county colleagues to win the Prince of Wales amateur challenge trophy for U21 ladies at Woburn.
Ashleigh, 14, had two rounds of one-over par 76 on the Duke’s course and finished a stroke clear of Sophie Madden, who has just won the East region girls’ championship. Both girls are members at West Essex.
Meanwhile, third place went to yet another Essex player, Dulcie Sverdloff of Thorpe Hall.
Ashleigh has been on great form this season. She has won two ladies’ scratch events, sharing the Hampshire Rose and scoring an outright success in the Sundridge Park scratch open, where she was two-under par.
She’s the Essex girls’ champion and was third in the East region girls’, where she lost out on second place on countback. Ashleigh shared fifth place in the English U15 girls’ championship.
