ENGLAND MIXED TEAM FOR ONE-DAY PANNAL MATCH v SPAIN

English U15 champion Gabriella Cowley is among the four girls in the mixed team for tomorrow’s annual one-day U16 match against Spain at Pannal Golf Club, Harrogate.
Gabriella, from West Essex, will be joined by Ellie Goodall (Selby), Sophie Keech (Lyme Regis) and Lizzie Prior (Foxhills). The boys are: Jack Singh Brar (Bramshaw), Haydn McCullen (Didsbury), Jordan Boulton (Notts) and Josh Thorley (Broughton Heath).
Gabriella Cowley won the English U15 title last month, just after her success in the women’s scratch event, the Porters Park Centenary Cup.
Ellie Goodall is the North Region girls’ champion and a semi-finalist in the North Region ladies’ championship.
Sophie Keech is the English schools’ and Dorset champion. She finished fourth at the English U15 championship.
Lizzie Prior won the 13-year age group of the US Kids Golf European Championship in Scotland and finished fifth at the English U15 championship.
The girls will go on to play in the North of England U16 championship at Pannal, from Wednesday to Friday, August 24-26. They will be joined by two other players in a EWGA squad of six: Emma Harris (Peel Ladies’) and Annabel Dimmock (Wentworth).
Emma is the Lancashire ladies’ champion while Annabel is the Buckinghamshire girls’ title-holder and was runner-up in the U15 championship.
