ENGLAND NAME YOUNGSTERS FOR HOME INTERNATIONALS
NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY ENGLISH WOMEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATIONEngland will field a young team for the Home Internationals which includes three new teenage caps: British champion Lauren Taylor, Georgia Hall and Bronte Law. The tournament will be played at Hillside, Lancashire, from September 7-9. Lyndsey HewisonLauren, 16, became the youngest-ever winner of the British championship when she won the title last month. She went to play in the Ricoh Women’s British Open. Georgia, 15, was a semi-finalist in last week’s British girls’ championship while Bronte, 16, reached the third round. They were in the winning team at this month’s Girls’ Home Internationals and, together with Lauren, they helped England win the silver medal at the European girls’ team championship. Playing alongside them in the team will be another 15-year-old, Charley Hull, who made her full England debut a year ago. She is the English and Welsh strokeplay champion. Charley and Lauren have been selected for Europe’s team for the PING Junior Solheim Cup to be played next month. The other established members of the team are Curtis Cup player Holly Clyburn, 20; the Scottish open strokeplay champion Charlotte Ellis, 25; the 2010 British champion Kelly Tidy, 19; and Charlotte Wild, 21, who returns to the side after a series of strong performances, including finishing runner-up in the English strokeplay.
