ENGLISH WOMEN'S PAR-3 CHAMPIONSHIP AT RAMSDALE PARK GC

NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY THE ENGLISH WOMEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATION
The first English women’s Par 3 championship tees off today when a full field of 60 competitors take on the challenge of the short course at Ramsdale Park Golf Club in Nottinghamshire.
The undulating 2,844-yard layout of the par 3 Lee course, where the holes range in length from 100 to 207 yards, will offer competitors of all handicaps a true golfing challenge and is certain to the test their short-game skills to the maximum.
The top prize of a £150 voucher for a Junge jacket from Compass Clothing and the trophy will go to the player with the best net score. There will also be prizes for the second and third handicap scores, for the best net team score and for the best individual gross score.
The event is designed to be both competitive and sociable, with a hint of a garden party atmosphere. Everyone who takes part will receive a complimentary glass of Pimm’s. EWGA championship manager Emma Lowe said: “We want to create a summer competition and we hope players will enjoy the golf and also enjoy socialising on Ramsdale Park’s lovely terrace.”
The championship was open to all EWGA members with active handicaps and the field represents a full handicap range, from one to 36. Competitors entered in teams of three, not necessarily from the same club.
