SEVEN IN A ROW FOR ULSTER GIRLS
NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY IRISH LADIES GOLF UNION
Ulster win Girls Interprovincial trophy at Cahir Park Golf Club to take their seventh title in a row at Cahir Park Golf Club.
Irish Girls Internationals Jessica Carty and Olivia Mehaffey both won their matches to give Ulster a great start but Gemma McCarthy (Clonmel) gave her Munster side great hope with an eagle putt on the 18th to win by 2 holes. However, news from the course was in favour of Ulster as Niamh McSherry got the better Lisa O’Shea and with both Jessica Ross and Niamh Ward securing halves against Aoife Barry and Ciara Magill respectively Ulster had won the trophy once again. Hannah Henderson and Victoria Craig confirmed Ulster’s dominance both winning the remaining matches for their side.
Leinster put on a great performance against Connacht winning 7½ matches and pipped Munster by matches won/halved to secure second place in the overall standings.
