ULSTER REMAIN ON COURSE FOR SEVENTH TITLE IN A ROW
Round 2
Ulster overwhelmed Connacht winning all eight singles matches – Jessica Carty secured Ulster’s first win of the afternoon while Jessica Boal brought in the final result turning around a 3 hole deficit to beat Emily Ribbins (Co. Sligo) on the home green.
Munster won their top three matches against Leinster but Leinster’s middle order of Shannon Heerey, Roisin Brady, Mary Doyle and Rachel McDonnell all found winning form to defeat Aoife Barry, Ciara Magill, Michelle Tierney and Lisa O’Shea respectively . Anne Marie Byrne’s win against Julie McCarthy ensured the match was halved. Munster will need to defeat the ever impressive Ulster in tomorrow’s decider to take the trophy off the holders.
Round 1
Ulster defeated Leinster in the first round of the series to remain on course to win their seventh title in a row.... Leinster had the better start of the contest with both Jenny Sykes from Dun Laoghaire and Shannen Brown (The Heath) notching up wins against their Ulster counterparts of Olivia Mehaffey and Jessica Boal, while top of the order match between Emma Murphy (Rosslare) and Jessica Carty (Holywood) was halved. Ulster's strength in depth proved the advantage as they went on to win the remaining 5 matches to secure the overall point.
