The entry of 114 was the biggest since the Banchory Ladies Open came diwb from from 36 holes to a one-round tournament after entries had steadily declined under the old format.
"I think most ladies prefer an 18-hole tournament and the message has got round to those who had stopped entering that the Banchory Ladies Open is now over 18 holes," said secretary Ann Smart.
