BELGIAN VANMOL IS NEW BRITISH GIRLS CHAMPION

There was nothing between the two protagonists after nine holes of the final - all square on the 10th tee, both having gone out in an approximate one-under-par 35.
Vanmol drew first blood with a birdie 3 at the second but Boutier drew level again with a birdie of her own at the long third.
The Parisienne kept up her momentum with a birdie 2 at the short fourth to lead for the first time but Vanmol hit back with a birdie 4 at the long fifth to draw level - four winning birdies in four holes on the trot: quality stuff.
Then Boutier bogeyed the sixth to fall one down but her opponent also had a bogey, at the eighth, to lose her lead. A half in par at the ninth put the
players through the turn in 90min.
The next four holes were also halved as the battle for supremacy achieved stalemate status. The long 11th was halved in birdie 4s but the 12th was halved in bogey 5s.
Both players had 3s at the short 13th  with neither showing signs of cracking under pressure.
Boutier bogeyed the 14th to go one down with four to play.
Vanmol doubled her lead with her fourth birdie of the round, at the long 15th, to go two up.
But the Belgian player lost the short 16th to a par 3 and was now one up with two to play.
The 17th was halved in par 4s and similarly the 18th, leaving the 6ft Vanmol walking tall off the green as the new British girls champion with two-under-par figures.
