MEGHAN MacLAREN JOINS ENGLAND GIRLS' TEAM AT GULLANE

NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY ENGLISH WOMEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATION
Northamptonshire’s Meghan MacLarn has been called into the England team for the Girls’ Home Internationals which start today at Gullane near Edinburgh.
The 17-year-old from Wellingborough joins Hayley Davis (Ferndown), Georgia Hall (Remedy Oak), Bronte Law (Bramhall), Elizabeth Mallett (Sutton Coldfield Ladies’), Alex Peters (Notts Ladies’), Emily Taylor (Royal Lytham and St Annes) and Brogan Townend (Pleasington).
England, the defending champions, begin their campaign tomorrow when they take on Wales. They will play Scotland on Thursday and Ireland on Friday.
Meghan, who was called up following the withdrawal of Suffolk’s Heidi Baek, is in impressive form. She had a top-ten finish in last week’s English girls’ championship and was runner-up in the English schools’ championship, which she won last year.
She’s the youngest-ever winner of the Northamptonshire championship and has helped her county team to a place in September’s County Finals. In County Match Week, Meghan won all five of her singles and contributed seven points out of a possible nine.
Last year Meghan won both the Midlands South women’s and girls’ championships.
