NAIRN BOY BURGESS WINS PAUL LAWRIE JUNIOR JUG

Nairn scratch player Sean Burgess won the Paul Lawrie Junior Jug Final at Murcar Links today. The weather was so bad the competition was reduced from 36 holes to one round. Burgess triumphed with a battling 82 in the very windy conditions. Cawder's Calum Fyfe finished a shot behind on 83 but had the consolation of winning the handicap section with a net 79, two shots ahead of runner-up Jake Stewart (Oldmeldrum). Three other players tied on 84 – Connor Syme (Dumfries and County), Christopher Lamb (Newmachar) and Calum Hill (Muckhart).  Paul Lawrie rushed back to the North-east  from Gleneagles to present the prizes and commend the competitors for playing in the toughest of conditions.
