RAMSAY AND MARSHALL IMPRESS WITH FIRST-ROUND WINS

Three times  beaten finalist Ann Ramsay (Kirriemuir), the leading qualifier for the match-play stages of the Strathtyrum women’s amateur golf tournament for the Strathtyrum Trophy at St Andrews, swept into the second round with a 6 and 5 win over a German opponent today.

Title-holder Karen Marshall (Baberton) also looked in good form as she won by a similar margin in the opposite half of the draw.
