SCOTLAND BLOOD THREE YOUNGSTERS AT HOME INTERNATIONALS

Scotland's team to defend the Women's Home Internationals title at Hillside Golf Club, Lancashire from September 7 to 9 will include three players who have been capped at junior level but are new to this level of representative golf.
They are Eilidh Briggs (Kilmacolm), the Scottish Under-18 girls champion and beaten finalist in the Scottish women's championship, Alyson McKechin (Elderslie), who was the last surviving Scot in the recent British girls championship at Gullane, and Rebecca Wilson (Monifieth), winner of two SLGA Order of Merit events this summer: the Munross Trophy at Montrose and the Mackie Bowl, during which she had a course record 68 at Gullane No 1 course.
Eilidh will join her older sister Megan in the team that will be trying to repeat last year's capture of the Miller Trophy for the first time in 19 years with victories over Wales (6 1/2-2 1/2), England (5-4) and Ireland (5-4) at Whitchurch GC, Cardiff.
The last sisters to play in the same Scotland team were Fiona and Mhairi McKay in 1993 and 1994. Fiona McKay, married name Norris, will captain the Scotland team at Hillside.
Of last year's winning Scotland team, Rachael Watton (Mortonhall) was unavailable because she is beginning a four-year golf scholarship at the University of Denver, Colorado, and Laura Murray (Alford), winner of the North of Scotland championship at Nairn in July,  and Martine Pow (Selkirk) have not retained their places.
The only other sisters in the past 30 years to play in the same Scotland line-up were Suzanne and Gladys Cadden in 1974 and 1975.

The full Scotland team for Hillside is:
Eilidh Briggs (Kilmacolm), Megan Briggs (Kilmacolm), Louise Kenney (Pitreavie), Kelsey MacDonald (Nairn Dunbar), Alyson McKechin (Elderslie), Pamela Pretswell (Bothwell Castle), Jane Turner (Craigielaw), Rebecca Wilson (Monifieth).

There are three changes in the Scotland over-50s' team for the Senior Home Internationals at Tramore Golf Club, Co Waterford, Ireland from September 28 to 30.
Fiona de Vries is recovering from a broken leg, and Noreen Fenton has retired from international golf. Moira Thomson, who played in last year's matches at Sheringham GC, when Scotland drew 4-4 with Wales but lost to England (6 1/2-1 1/2) and Ireland (5-3), is not named this time.
Into the team come Karen Ballantyne (Craigmillar Park), Alex Glennie (Kilmarnock Barassie) and May Hughes (Lanark).
The Scotland senior team, captained by Helen Faulds (Douglas Park), is:
Heather Anderson (Blairgowrie), Karen Ballantyne (Craigmillar Park), Lorna Bennett (Ladybank), Alex Glennie (Kilmarnock (Barassie)), May Hughes (Lanark), Anne Ryan (Tain), Mary Smith (Tain).
