SCOTS WELL BEATEN ON LAST DAY OF VETERAN LADIES' JAMBOREE

Scotland were trounced 8.5-0.5 by South on the final day of the Veteran Ladies Jamboree at Wellingborough Golf Club.
The Scots, having taken 1.5pt out of a possible 2 from the first day, were strong challengers to win the trophy once again but, there's many a slip twixt cup and lip ...
The writing was on the wall in large letters that it was not going to be Scotland's day when South made a 3-0 clean sweep in the foursomes.
The singles session was not much better from a Scotland point of view. South took that 5.5-0.5.
The final placings were:
1 South 2pt (on countback)
2 Midlands 2pt
3 Scotland 1.5pt
4 North 0.5pt

FINAL DAY RESULTS:

MIDLANDS 5.5, NORTH 3.5

SCOTLAND 0.5, SOUTH 8.5
Foursomes (0-3)
Elaine Allison and Lorna Bennett lost to Carole Weir and Lulu Housman 5 and 3.
May Hughes and Mary Smith lost to Chris Quinn and Carole Caldwell 2 holes.
Karen Ballantyne and Kathleen Sutherland lost to Irene Brien and Cathy Armstrong 3 and 2.
Singles (0.5-5.5)
Ballantyne lost to Quinn 7 and 6.
Bennett lost to Weir 1 hole.
Heather Anderson lost to Caldwell 1 hole.
Smith halved with Housman.
Alex Glennie lost to Jeannie O'Keeffe 4 and 2.
Hughes lost to Brien 2 holes.
