STORM DELAYS START, CUTS BELGIAN JUNIOR EVENT TO 3 ROUNDS

A Tuesday night storm which blew down more than 40 trees all over the course ruled out play today, the scheduled start of the Belgian international junior golf tournament at Royal Golf Club de Belgique, near Brussels. It is hoped that a team of 30 will have cleared the debrise from the tees, fairways and greens in time for the tournament, now reduced from 72 to 54 holes, to start on Thursday morning.
They are not having the best of weather in Belgium. The course, waterlogged by heavy overnight rain, was closed on Tuesday, rulling out any practice rounds.
