NEWS FROM UNITED STATES COLLEGE GOLF CIRCUIT

 TOP TEN FINISH BY TOM RENNIE IN NORTH CAROLINA

Deeside Golf Club member Tom Rennie, a fourth-year student at Brevard College, North Carolina, finished joint eighth in a field of 47 players at the Pfeiffer Fall Intercollegiate golf tournament at Badin Resort and Inn, North Carolina last week.
Rennie, pictured, a former pupil of Robert Gordon's College, had two rounds of 72 over a 6,397yd course for a total of two-over-par 144, finishing eight strokes behind the winner, Luiz Jacintho (Pfeiffer University) who shot 73 and 65 for 138 to win by three strokes.
Brevard (587) finished third in the team event behind winners Pfeiffer (565) and second-placed Bluefield State (585)..

YOUSAF KHAN TIES FOR VICTORY AT OTTER CREEK

Londoner Yousaf Khan tied with Grand View University team-mate Josh Manske for victory in the Grand View Viking Classic at Otter Creek golf course, Ankeny, Iowa.
Yousaf scored 69 and 71 for 140, Josh 68 and 72 over a par-71 course of 6,895yd.
Eight of the top nine finishers in a field of 57 players were Grand View students.
Not surprisingly, Grand View (565) ran away wth the team title,  finishing 23 shots clear of runners-up Viterbo University in a field of seven teams.

CHRIS BELL T27 AT LUBBOCK, TEXAS
Chris Bell from Carnoustie, a student at Odessa Community College, Texas, finished joint 27th in a field of 72 at the Chaps Fall Invitational at Lakeridge Country Club, Lubbock, Texas.
Over a par-72 course of 6,739yd, Chris scored 79, 73 and 73 for 225. He finished 16 shots behind the winner, Bradley Sinnett (Wayland Baptist) who shots 69, 76 and 67 for a seven-under-par total of 209 and a one-shot victory.
Odessa (881) finished third behind Wayland Baptist (870) and Western Texas (880) in the team event, contested by 10 squads.

SCOTS DOWN THE FIELD IN ATLANTIC INVITATIONAL

West Virginia's Davis and Elkins College's Scottish students, Alasdair Forsythe from Glasgow and Christopher Young from Cardross, finished joint 39th and 50th respectively in a field of 86 players at the Atlantic Region Invitational at River Greens Golf Club, Ohio.
Alasdair had rounds of 78, 76 and 74 for 228 and Christopher scored 80, 73 and 79 for 232. The course was a par-72 of 6,424yd.
Individual winner by three shots was Richie Schembechler of Malone Universtiy with scores of 71, 67 and 70 for eight-under-par 208. Malone University (853) won the team title by 18 shots. Davis an Elkins (915) finsiehd 10th of 16.
