Lenzie Academicals achieved their first victory in the 59th Queen Elizabeth Coronation Trophy Schools FP foursomes at the Royal Burgess, Edinburgh, with a 2-1 victory over four times previous winners Daniel Stewart's Melville FP in the final.
The Lenzie side featured half of the six strong side which finished runners-up in 2004.
David Wylie and Graeme Stewart had a chance to win on the 18th in the deciding middle match but eventually secured the trophy with a par 4 on the first extra hole.
Lenzie'a results:
First round: Won 2-1 v Old Carthusians
Second round: Won 2 1/2-1/2 v Edinburgh Academicals
Third round: Won 2-1 v Breadalbane
Semi- final: Won 3-0 v Merchistonians
Final: Won 2-1 (1st extra hole) v Stewart's Melville

This tournament was established in 1952 and is played between former pupils of schools from all over Great Britain. Format is a six-man team playing as three foursomes off scratch.
Footnote: No, I haven't played in in them all, but nearly - Jim Paton.
