2005 Scottish Under-21 champion Louise now living in San Jose, California

By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Louise (Fleming) Hall, the 2005 Scottish Under-21 girls' stroke-play champion, is pictured above with her husband Micah and their baby boy, Cameron, who was born in March so the picture is a wee bit out of date but still nice to display it for all her old friends in this country to see.
The Halls live in San Jose, California. Yes, the same "Do you know the way to San Jose?"
Louise is an assistant professional at the Saratoga Country Club.
In an E-mail to www.kirkwoodgolf.co.uk/ this week, Louise wrote:
"I have not been doing much on the golf front for obvious reasons but  I did play in my first professional tournament on Monday this week - and managed to win. It was the Northern California PGA Women's Strokeplay Championship at Half Moon Bay golf links. I shot 75 on the 6027 yard, par 72. It was for women club pros in the Northern California PGA section."
Louise never really came back to the Borders - she was county champion and a member at The Roxburgh GC - after acquiring a taste for life in America as a member of the successful Jacksonville State University women's team in Alabama.
A shoulder injury cut short her college golfing career so it is good to see that she got over that eventually and has proved this week that she is still a winner at golf.

Louise Fleming, centre, as she was when winning the 2005 Scottish Under-21 girls' championship at West Kilbride. On the left is Clare-Marie Carlton, on the right Krystle Caithness.
All three ladies are now professional golfers. Clare-Marie, of course, has now changed her surname to Macaulay since marrying Challenge Tour player and former Scottish amateur champion Callum Macaulay from Tulliallan.
