BEARSDEN ACADEMY "OLD BOY" FINISHES 5th IN US COLLEGE GOLF

 Bearsden Academy former pupil Richard Docherty, a student at Lindenwood University, St Charles in the state of Missouri, finished fifth in the Derrall Foreman Invitational college golf tournament at Cleveland Golf Club, Missouri (Friday-Saturday tournament).
After a first-round of eight-over-par 80, Richard came storming up through the field with an eight-under-par score of 64 - a 16-shot improvement - in the second round - the lowest score of the 36-hole tournament.
His par-matching total of 144, saw Docherty finish five shots behind joint winners Jake Green (North Alabama) (69-70) and Zack Day (Mobile) (71-68).
Lindenwood (586) finished third behind Delta State (577) and North Alabama (578) in the team competition.
