STIRLING AND CLACKMANNAN COUNTY GIRLS' CHAMPIONSHIP

County captain Linda Allan and the leading prizewinners at the Stirling and Clackmannan County Girls' Autumn meeting and championship at Glenbervie.

Stirling and Clackmannan County Girls held their Autumn Meeting and championship stroke play and matchplay events this weekend at Glenbervie Golf Club.
The stroke play championship was won by Alison Goodwin (Glenbervie) with a gross 85. The handicap prize was won by Jennifer Allan (Glenbervie) 92-14=78. C.S.S. 75 (Reduction Only)
The leading four scratch scores qualified for matchplay. The first morning semi-final was between sisters, Alison and Catherine Goodwin. Alison won by 6 and 5. The other semi-final was between Alexis Hutton (Falkirk Tryst) and Jennifer Allan. Alexis won by 7 and 6.
The afternoon’s final was a very exciting match between Alison and Alexis. Alexis was 3 up at the turn but a strong finish by Alison squared the game on the 18th. The girls both sunk good putts for pars at the first extra hole and then Alison went on to win the game at the 20th with a par 5.
The recent heavy rain made the course play very long.
