SIAN EVANS - Team-leading performances at East Tennessee State University
Sian finished joint fifth on Sunday in the 54-hole Lady Paladin Invitational at Furman University's golf course (par-72, 6160yd) at Greenville, South Carolina and led the East Tennessee State team to within a shot or two of victory in the team event.
Evans had rounds of 75, 79 and 76 for a total of 230 to finish T5 behind the winner by five shots, Denmark's Charlotte Lorentzen (Georgia State) who scored 77-74-71 for six-over 222 in conditions which, particularly in the early stages, did not lend themselves to low scoring.
Past Warwickshire county champion Abbey Gittings from Tamworth, a student at Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale in Florida, finished a very creditable 10th in a field of 81 players. She had scores of 79, 78 and 76 for 233.
Kirsty Rands (Augusta State) from Surrey finished T44 with scores of 84, 84 and 79.
East Tennessee State freshman Kelsey Coey from Bangor, near Belfast, had a tough time with rounds of 86, 83 and 86 for 255 and 58th position.
South Florida (933) pipped East Tennessee State by one shot for the team tile. Georgia State (944) were third and Nova Southeastern (946) fourth in a field of 15 teams.
GEMMA DOWN THE FIELD AT WILMINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA
Gemma Dryburgh from Aberdeen, a freshman student at Tulane University, New Orleans, was not at her best in the three-round Landfall Tradition women's college tournament which ended at Country Club of Landfall, Wilmington in North Carolina on Sunday.
Over a par-72 couruse of 6,208yd, Gemma scored 82, 77 and 79 for a total of 238 and a share of 53rd place in a field of 90 players.
Winner by three shots was Paula Reio (Purdue) with scores of 71-77-70 for two-over-par 218.
Purdue (904) also won the team title from Auburn (918) and Ohio State. Tulane (945) finished 15th of 18.
GARRICK PORTEOUS MAKES TOP 20 IN MEXICO
Garrick Porteous from Bamburgh Castle, Northumberland finished 18th of 66 in the Santa Clara Cabo Collegiate tournament at Querencia Golf Club, Cabo in Mexico from October 27 to 29.
Garrick, pictured right, a student at Tennessee University, had rounds of 74, 72 and 71 for a total of four-over-par over a par-72, 6,962yd course.
He finished 12 shots behind the winner by two, Sebastian Cappelen (Arkansas) who put together three very good rounds of 68, 68 and 69 for eight-under-par 205.
Porteous's Tennessee team-mate Darren Renwick from Woking finished T43 with scores of 74, 77 and 76 for 227.
Arkansas (831) won the team title ahead of Southeastern Louisiana (857) with Tennessee (869) fifth of 12 teams.
TOM BROWN JUST OUTSIDE TOP 20 IN BRIDGESTONE COLLEGIATE
Tom Brown from Hertfordshire, a student at Mississippi University, finished T22 in a field of 85 players at the Bridgestone Collegiate which finished at Forest Oaks Country Club, Greenboro, North Carolina on Sunday.

Brown, pictured left, had a pair of 74s for a total of 148 over a long par-72 course of some 7,212yd. Tom's father, incidentally, is Ken Brown, the former Ryder Cup player and now BBC TV live-commentary pundit.
Winner by two shots was Canadian Albin Choi (North Carolina State) with scores of 70 and 69 for five-under-par 139.
Iowa State (582) won the team title from North Carolina State (587) with Virginia Tech and Mississippi State tieing for third place on 591. Mississippi(594) finished T10 in a field of 15 teams.
