Glasgow's Alasdair Forsythe, a third-year student at Davis and Elkins College, Elkins in West Viriginia, has beaten a final of 65 players to win the West Virginia IAC Central Regional men's college tournament over 36 holes at Canaan Valley Golf Club at Davis, West Virginia.
Alasdair, pictured right, had rounds of 65 and 69 for a splendid 10-under-par total of 10-under 134 over a longish par-72 course of 6,984yd. He won by two strokes.
His 65 was the joint lowest score of the two-day tournament.
Team-mate Ciar Porciani, a freshman from Ayrshire - he is a member of Ayr Belleisle Golf Club - finished a creditable 10th on 145 with scores of 73 and 72.

Ciar, pictured left, has played county golf for Ayrshire at boys and youths' level.
A third Davis and Elkins student, Christopher Young from Cardross, finished T38 on 152 with scores of 77 and 75.
Despite the good efforts of Messrs Forsyth and Porciani, Davis and Elkins did not win the team event. They finished third in fact in a field of 13 teams behind winners Charleston (561) and Concord (575). Davis and Elkins totalled 579.

Perth's Daniel Young and Paul McPhee, both students at Lynn University, Boca Raton in Florida, finished T20 and T28 in a field of 60 players at last week's Dandestin Collegiate Classic at Raven Golf Club, Destin in Florida.
Daniel had rounds of 76, 78 and 66 (the low round of the tournament) for a total of 220 over the testing par-71 course of 6,875yd. Paul was in contention after opening rounds of 71 and 70 but tumbled down the leaderboard with a third-round 81 for a total of 222.
Winner was one of their Lynn team-mates, Marcelo Rozo, with consistently good scoring of 69, 70 and 71 for three-under-par 210. He won by one stroke.
Lynn won the team title by three strokes from Newberry College with West Florida only a shot farther back in third place in a field of 11 teams.
