CONSISTENT ABBEY SHARES THIRD PLACE IN FLORIDA

ABBEY GITTINGS IN FULL SWING FOR NOVA SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY

Abbey Gittings from Walmley, Warwickshire, a student at Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale in Florida, continued her consistent form on the US women's college golf circuit with a joint third finish at the NSU Shark Invitational at PGA National, Palm Beach Gardens in Florida.
Abbey scored 75 and 73 for a total of 148, the same as team-mate Lilliana Camisa who has the same scores. They finished third behind anotheer Nova Southeastern University player, Daniela, Ortiz who had scores of 73 and 69 for a two-under-par total of 142 over the 6,131yd (par 72) Palmer course.
Needless to say, Nova Southeastern won the team event by 14 shots from Florida Southern with Florida Tech (630) fourth, Lynn (622) fifth and Barry (627) seventh in a field of 12 te3ams.
Rachel Polson from Peterculter, near Aberdeen made her debut for Florida Tech and finished joint 34th on 160 with rounds of 83 77.
Former Welsh girl cap Chelsey Herbert (Nova Southeastern) had a pair of 81s for 162 and joint 39th place. Chelsey comes from Cambridge and is a member of Gog Magog GC.
Lizzi Over from Forest Pines, Lincolnshire, in his fourth and final college year at Barry University, Miami, finished joint 48th on 168 with rounds of 80 and 88.
There were 71 players in the field.

BREAKFAST FOR TIFFANY AFTER TOP 20 FINISH?

Tiffany Hewetson from Brighton, a student at Grand Canyon University, Arizona, finished joint 16th in a field of 57 players at the Western Washington Invite, played at Bellingham Golf and Country Club in the state of Washington.
Over a par-72, 6028yd course, Tiffany, pictured, scored 75 and 81 for 156.
Joint winners were Courtney Soekland (CSU-Monterey Bay) (76-70) and Deanna Tyndall (CSU-East Bay) (74-72).

SIAN jt 35th IN BIG FIELD  

Sian Evans from Gillingham, Kent, a student at East Tennessee State University, finished joint 35th in a big field of some 104 players at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate women's tournament at Greenville Country Club, North Carolina this week.

Over a par-72, 5280yd course, Sian, pictured on left, had rounds of 75, 77 and 75 for a total of 227.
Kimberley Bradbury from Derbyshire and a student at Old Dominion University, Virginia finished joint 57th on 233 with rounds of 77, 78 and 78.
One of Kimberley's ODU team-mates, Samantha Morrell, was the winner by four strokes with an aggregate of four-under-par 212, made up of three so-steady rounds: 71, 70 and 71.
Maryland (879) won the team title ahead of Georgia State (882) with East Carolina (887) third. East Tennessee State (901) finished sixth of 20 teams. Old Dominion totalled 926 and were 16th.




ROSIE DAVIES 32nd AT FRENCH LICK RESORT

Rosie Davies (Indiana University), a sophomore (second year) student from London, finished 32nd in a field of 69 players at the Lady Northern Intercollegiate at the quaintly-named French Lick Resort, Indiana.
Rosie, pictured left, had rounds of 78, 76 and 77 for a total of 231 over a par-71 course of 6037yd.
Kristy Rands, a senior from Surrey and a student at Augusta State University, finished 40th on 234 with scores of 74, 83 and 77.
Winner by four shots with a level par total of 213 over a testing course was Meagan Bauer (Michigan) who scored 72, 73 and 68.
Central Florida (887) won the team title from Ohio State (892) and Michigan (893). Indiana (916) finished sixth of 12 teams.
