SCOTS PAIR WIN SOME EUROS IN LET ACCESS SERIES EVENT

FROM THE LADIES EUROPEAN TOUR WEBSITE
Marieke Nivard from the Netherlands captured her first professional title with a final round of even par 72 at the Trophée Preven’s near Paris on the LET Access Series circuit.
The 21-year-old Ladies European Tour rookie held her nerve, picking up two birdies in her final nine holes to finish on an eight-under-par total to take the title by three strokes from Frenchwomen Elena Giraud, Joanna Klatten and Camille Fallay, two-time LETAS winner Henrietta Zuel and fellow Dutch player Marjet van der Graaff, who all finished tied at five-under-par.
Nivard and Giraud both started the day at eight-under-par and remained tied at the top of the leaderboard until the French player birdied the par four 13th to move into the lead.
The turning point came on the 16th hole when Nivard struck back with a birdie, whilst the French player bogeyed the same hole. The Dutch woman finished solidly with two pars to win the first place cheque of €3,426 and move to second position on the LETAS Order of Merit, giving herself a great opportunity to gain her full playing rights for the 2012 LET season.
Scots Pamela Feggans and Heather MacRae did not come home empty-handed from their trip to France.
Pamela won 579 Euros for 16th place on 219 (four over par) with scores of 72, 75 and 73. Heather earned 523 Euros for a joint 20th finish on 221 with scores of 72, 74 and 75.
+The LET Access Series is the second division tour for women golfers aspiring to compete on the Ladies European Tour, which features seven tournaments on the 2011 schedule.
+A further two events are still to be played this season, the Murcia Ladies Open in Spain from November 17-19 and the Azores Ladies Open, from December 2-4 at Campo de Golf de Batalha, Ponta Delgado, São Miguel Island in Portugal.
+Following the completion of the season, two full cards for the Ladies European Tour in 2012 will be awarded. Eight players from the LET Access Series Order of Merit not already exempt will also progress directly to LET Final Qualifying School.
