FORREST CATCHES FIRE IN FINAL ROUND OF WOLF PACK CLASSIC

Last year's Scottish boys champion Grant Forrest, now a freshman student at San Diego University, had an astonishing final round of six-under-par 66 in the Wolf Pack Classic men's college tournament at Edgewood Golf Club, Stateline in the state of Nevada earlier this week.
Astonishing in that his previous rounds were 80 (eight over par) and 77 (five over par).
Grant, of course, is on a steep learning curve with regard to golf courses in the United States in general and the west of the country in particular.
All things considered, young Grant did well to finish joint 15th in a field of 81 players. The only San Diego University player to finish ahead of the Scot was Alex Ching, the recognised No 1 in the tema at the moment.
Forrest's total of 223 was only eight shots behind the winner Jay Myers - and Grant outscored him by four strokes in the final round!
Myers, a student at San Jose State, shot 72, 73 and 70 for one-under 215 to win by two strokes.
San Diego (893)  finished fifth in the team event won by San Jose State (881) from Nevada (886).
