Paul Lawrie's nephew Sean Lawrie, a teenagefreshman student at Midland College, Texas, finished joint 12th in a field of 82 players at the Coca Cola Classic college golf tournament at Twin Rivers Golf Club, Waco, Texas this week.
Sean Lawrie, pictured by Cal Carson Golf Agency, a member at Portlethen Golf Club, scored 78 and 72 for a total of 150 over the longest par-72 course he has ever played - 7,478yd, which is a good deal longer than the Valderrama course being used on the European Tour this week!
Sean's par-matching 72 was the joint best in the second round.
Midland College (601) finished second to McLennan College (595) in the team event contested by 12 squads.

Sean's Midland team-mates Luke Richmond from Essex and Richard Farmer from Brighton tied for seventh place on 149. Luke scored 75 and 74 for 149, Richard 72 and 77. Luke is a sophomore (second-year) student, Richard a freshman like Sean Lawrie.
