IRELAND NAME FOUR FOR THE SPIRIT TOURNAMENT AT HOUSTON

FROM THE IRISH LADIES GOLF UNION WEBSITE
Teenagers Paula Grant (Lisburn) and Chloe Ryan (Castletroy) will represent Ireland in the Spirit International Amateur Championship at Whispering Pines Golf Club, Houston, Texas, from November 2 to 5.
They will be joined in the mixed team by Men's Internationals Harry Diamond (Belvoir Park), 27, and Reeve Whitson (Mourne), 21.
Eighteen-year-old Paula, pictured left by Cal Carson Golf Agency, the current Irish girls champion, and Chloe, 17, pictured below by Cal Carson Golf Agency, were members of the Irish team at the Ladies’ Home Internationals at Hillside last month.
The Spirit International amateur team championship is a biennial, world-class event featuring the top men and women golfers from 20 countries spanning six continents. Established in 2001, players play for team and individual prizes over 72 holes.

All 80 participants enjoy an Olympic-like experience including an opening ceremony, international village accommodation, festive dinner parties, a closing ceremony and a 72-hole better-ball stroke-play event.
The event is hosted by the World Health and Golf Association, a charitable organization dedicated to promoting amateur golf for the benefit of health related causes.
