RACHAEL McQUEEN AND ANNA CARLING SHARE 5TH IN ARKANSAS

Rachael McQueen (Troon Ladies), pictured right, a freshman student at McLennan Community College, Waco in Texas), and Anna Carling from Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, a student at Arkansas State University, tied for fifth place today in the Lady Red Wolf Classic women's college tournament at Jonesboro Country Club, Arkansas.
They both hit the seven-over-par 149 mark at the par-71, 5999yd course, Rachael scoring 75 and 74, Anna 78-71.
They finished six shots behind the winner by two, Jennifer Loiacano, one of Anna Carling's Arkansas State team-mates. Jennifer scored 72-71 for one-over 143.
Gemma Hardie from Scunthorpe, a student at Central Arkansas University, finished 24th in the field of 44 players. She had a pair of 81s for 162.
Arkansas State (594) won the team title ahead of Murray State (597), Northern Iowa (614), McLennan CC (622) and fifth placed Central Arkansas (632) in a field of eight teams.

HAY AND ASHBY SHARE 12th PLACE AT ORLANDO

Glasgow's Gavin Hay (Carson-Newman College, Tennessee) and team-mate Liam Ashby from Dublin, shared 12th place in a field of 74 at the Rollins College Invite today at Rio Pinar Country Club, Orlando in Florida.
Over a longish par-71 course of 7,001yd, Hay, pictured right, shot 74-71-74 for 219, a total matched by Ashby's 75-73-71.
They finished eighth shots behind the winner by two, Spencer Cole (Rollins College) who had scores of 69-71-71 for five-under 211.
Boca Raton's Lynn University pair of Scots from Perth, Daniel Young and Paul McPhee, had contrasting fortunes. Daniel shot 71-74-75 for a total of 220 and a share of 16th place.
McPhee, Scottish Under-14 boys' stroke play champion in 2006, finished joint 68th with disappointing rounds of 81-79-77 for 21-over-par 237.
A third Lynn University team player, Shane Smyth from Co Louth finished 59th on 234 with scores of 79-77-78.
Matthew Killen from Yorkshire, a student at Newberry College, South Carolina, tied with Daniel Young for 16th place on 220 with scores of 75, 73 and 72.
Killen's effort help Newberry College (867) win the team title, 10 shots ahead of joint runners-up Carson-Newman College and Rollins College.
Columbus State (887) were third and Lynn (890) fourth in a field of 11 teams.
Meanwhile, Alex Irvin from Essex, a student at Berry College, Georgia, finished T35 in a field of 89 players at the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial college tournament at The Cardinal Golf and Country Club, Greensboro in North Carolina.
Over a long par-70 course of 7,002yd, Alex scored 78 and 80 for 158. Guilford College, the team winners, also provided the 1-2 individuals - Noah Ratner with contrasting rounds of 65 and 76 for 141, and Andrew Thompson with 70-72 for 142.
Guilford College (594) won the team title by two shots from joint runners-up Greensboro College and Methodist University. Berry College (634) were placed eighth in a field of 14 teams.
