NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY THE LADIES EUROPEAN TOUR
By BETHAN CULTER, LET Media Manager
At The 2011 Solheim Cup at Killeen Castle in Ireland, DAB International Ltd, supported by the Ladies European Tour, produced a merchandising outlet bigger, better and more successful than any other seen at previous European Solheim Cups.
DAB delivered the largest ladies’ golf retail platform ever at an event on European soil. It was no surprise that people were queuing outside the merchandise tent each morning eagerly awaiting the opening. DAB appointed leading golfing brands including Abacus, Ping Collection, Antigua and Bushnell as well as a variety of other leading suppliers including Tipperary Crystal and John Deere to ensure that the merchandising pavilion was stocked with an enormous range of high quality products.
There was an unprecedented sell through of products and suppliers were delighted. The presence in the merchandising facility also enabled them to expose their brand to over 80,000 attendees.
David Woodward director of DAB International Ltd commented: “From our announcement as the official merchandiser for The 2011 Solheim Cup, DAB was passionate about delivering a retail environment that has never been matched at any previous Solheim Cup in Europe. Once again we managed to push the boundaries on event merchandising and prove that our unique and creative ideas are well received.”
Mark Casey, European Solheim Cup Director commented: “We worked very hard in assisting the team at DAB to deliver a merchandise solution for the event bigger and better than ever before, the combined vision was to offer all attendees a range of products and prices to suit all budgets and we feel we achieved that from all the positive feedback received both at the event and in the days afterwards.
"We thank the team at DAB along with all the suppliers who supported the event for their commitment and look to work with everyone in the years ahead across both future Solheim Cup matches and the Ladies European Tour.”
