ANONYMOUS LEGACY OF £20,000 FOR EWGA TRUST

NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY THE ENGLISH WOMEN'S GOLF ASSOCIATION
An anonymous benefactor has left a legacy of £20,000 to the EWGA Trust, the English Women’s Golf Association charity for girls’ golf.
The bequest has been warmly welcomed by the chairman of the Trust, Elizabeth Earnshaw. The Trust makes grants to help girls start and stay in golf but, over recent years, its income has dwindled and she commented:
“We are extremely grateful to our benefactor for remembering the Trust in their Will. We have no idea of this person’s identity but the gift clearly comes from someone who cared about young people and about helping them to enjoy the benefits of golf.
“The Trust is dependent upon the generosity of individuals, clubs and county associations for donations to support its work and the trustees are very appreciative of those who help girls’ golf by making a bequest in this way.” The Trust was founded almost 30 years ago. Since then, it has supported countless girl golfers and helped them benefit from playing the sport.
