THE WAY THEY WERE: NORTH-EAST GIRLS TEAM OF AUGUST, 2005
FLASHBACK to August 2005 and it's the North-east girls team who played their Northern Counties counterparts at Newmachar Golf Club. Pride of place in the front row went to two girls who went on to play for Scotland, one of them (Michele Thomson) becoming Scottish champion at Lossiemouth and gaining Curtis Cup honours in 2008 at the Old Course, St Andrews, the other (Laura Murray) winning the St Rule Trophy in 2010.
The full list of names is:
Back row (left to right): Lauren Whyte (Aberdeen Ladies), Samantha (Sammy) Leslie (Westhill), Lauren MacCallum (Newburgh) and Mhairi Johnstone (Northern).
Front row: Andrea Bowie (Monifieth), Laura Murray (Alford), Michele Thomson (McDonald Ellon), Kirsty Moss (Monifieth).
