GOOD SPANISH EFFORT BY ALYSON AND JESSICA

 Scottish teenagers Alyson McKechin (Elderslie) and Jessica Meek (Carnoustie Ladies) finished a creditable joint 15th and 22nd respectively in the inaugural Spanish women's amateur international stroke-play championship over three rounds at Alicante Golf Club today.
Alyson had rounds of 76, 69 and 78 for a total of nine-over-par 225. Jessica scored 73, 77 and 78 for 228.
Winner was South Korean-born, Spanish domiciled Ha Rang Lee with scores of 67, 71 and 74 for four-under-par 212.
Leading British finishers were the Welsh pair Becky Harris (joint sixth on 219) and Amy Boulden (joint 10th on 224.
