HANNAH McCOOK WON'T RISK INJURY BY PLAYING IN FLORIDA

Grantown on Spey GC member Hannah McCook, who flew out last week to join the rest of the Stirling University girls' golf squad in Florida, will not after all play in any of the remaining events on the Orange Blossom Tour.
The Scotland girl international, pictured by Cal Carson Golf Agency, had a wrist operation at the end of November and the recovery period is taking longer than originally thought.
"When I went back to see the surgeon before I flew tp Florida, he recommended waiting another three weeks before really starting to practise," said Hannah.
"This means I can only start light practice this week, and it would be silly to try and compete in this week's South Atlantic championship or next week's Jones-Doherty match-play championship.
"Even if my wrist did feel fine, one awkward shot and I could be back to where I was in October. There is no point risking playing in these competitions when I have a whole season ahead of me."
The Orange Blossom Tour continues at Oceanside Country Club, Ormond Beach tomorrow with the South Atlantic (The "Sally") event in which 15-year-old girl Charley Hull (Woburn) from Kettering, ranked No 10 female amateur in the world, will be bidding to follow up her weekend victory in the Harder Hall Invitational at Sebring.
Stirling student and Nairn Dunbar GC member Kelsey Macdonald made the top 20 at Oceanside last year.
