FALKIRK GOLF CLUB PROVIDES ASSISTANCE TO YOUNG GOLFERS

NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY FALKIRK GOLF CLUB
Falkirk Golf Club champions Ryan Campbell and Louise MacGregor, pictured, are delighted that club is the first in the area to introduce a new category to their membership structure.
This young adult category - aged 23 - 30 - allows new or existing members to play at a discounted rate.
Billy Crozier, the club captain, said: “We recognise that this is a difficult time for young adults. Therefore, we have introduced this to try and allow young golfers to be part of the club.”
Both champions have benefited from coaching at the club run by Stewart Craig, a European Tour coach, and by utilising the extensive practice facilities. Stewart is also offering free tuition to new members who join the club.
Members also benefit from discounted rates at the Forthview Golf Range. Louise, who is also the county women's champion, said: “It's fantastic that the club has recognised the difficulties in affording golf when starting or trying to get a job. They also have incentives for members to encourage their friends or work colleagues to join.”
Ryan could not believe that if Paula Creamer, Rory McIlroy, Martin Kaymer, and Rickie Fowler, were members of Falkirk Golf Club they would get discounted golf. Ryan added
“It has to be remembered that this is one of the best courses in the area and the greens staff have done a great job over the past few years to raise the standard of the course.”
The club captain said “This new category means that Falkirk Golf Club has discounted rates for all young golfers up to the age of 30 as well as free golf for kids on the Par 3 course.”
