PAMELA WILLIAMSON TOP SCOT IN SPANISH SENIORS CH/SHIP

Baberton's Pamela Williamson was the third highest placed British or Irish player and the top Scot in the Spanish senior women's golf championship which ended at La Manga, Spain today (Sunday).

Pamela, pictured, scored 83 and 87 for 170 to finished joint 16th behind the Spanish winner by six shots, Maria Castillo Dolagaray, who had rounds of 81 and 71 for a seven-over-par total of 153.

Shenna McElroy (Ireland) (83-85) and former Curtis Cup player Vicki Thomas (Wales) (86-82) were joint 10th on 168.

Lesley (Hope) Johnston, Scottish champion in 1975, was second best of the Scots with 96 and 83 for 179, a shot ahead of Jennifer Mack (92-88).
Helen Faulds (96-94) totalled 190 and another former Curtis Cup player, Suzanne Cadden shot 98-95 for 193.
