“It was good to see Rachel play well in the first two rounds,” Florida head
coach Chris Saltmarsh said.
“She’s been striking the ball well
in practice, but she had not put a complete round together. I
don’t think this is the last time she’s going to have the opportunity to win a
tournament. She’s young and she had some great shots today. She just didn’t
convert birdies.”
“Our first round showed us we have the
ability to compete against some of the top teams in the country. This tournament
was probably one of the strongest fields. We’re going to have another
opportunity to compete against some of the top teams at the Rollins tournament
in a few weeks.
“We need to work on being able to go the distance. We’re
going to have bad shots, but we can’t let those shots affect
us.”
