SALLY WATSON ONE OFF THE PACE AT HOME IN CALIFORNIA

Sally Watson, a Curtis Cup player in 2008 and 2010, is lying joint second after the opening round of the Peg Barnard Invitational women's college tournament over her "home" course at Stanford University, California.
Sally, pictured, originally from South Queensferry, shot a level par-71 over the 6,092yd course with birdies at the second, short fourth, fifth and short 17th. She bogeyed the short third, ninth, 10th and 18th.
Leading the field in the 36-hole event with a 70 is Christine Uhalde (Fresno State).
