GILLIAN STEWART, CHRISTINE LANGFORD HELP CURTIS CUP SQUAD

Gillian Stewart and Christine Langford, two former Ladies European Tour professionals, responded to an invitation from the Ladies Golf Union to pass on their short-game expertise, particularly in links' golf conditions, to the GB and I Curtis Cup short leet at The Nairn GC this weekend, writes Colin Farquharson.
No fees involved - Gillian and Christine are only too pleased to help the GB and I cause. Gillian, extreme left, is pictured in action above with the girls on The Nairn practice green during this afternoon's brilliant sunshine. Christine is pictured below with Georgia Hall and Becky Harries.

Another pointer to how thorough the GB and I Curtis Cup preparations are for the June 8-10 match was the appearance of Jeff Collington, above, the Ladies European Tour yardage book expert. He has been engaged to prepare detailed yardage charts and putting green contours' images for the GB and I players at Nairn.
A former Ladies European Tour caddie, the 25-year-old Jeff from Leicester also worked with Solheim Cup winning captain Alison Nicholas and vice-captain Annika Sorenstam in Europe's memorable victory last year over the United States in Ireland.

NAIRN'S CURTIS CUP SQUAD TAXI SERVICE
Susan Simpson, the Ladies Golf Union's Head of Golf Operations has done a deal with a Nairn-based taxi company to run a service for the Curtis Cup teams and it started over the last few days with the GB and I short leet of players and officials were in town for the Selection Trial.
The taxi firm are proud to display the Curtis Cup logo on their cabs and over the next three months or so, as they play their trade round Nairn and its surrounds it will be a constant reminder to the local populace that the Curtis Cup three-day match, featuring some of the best amateur girl golfers in the world, is coming to town during the week ending June 8 to 10.
