CRAIGIELAW WIN, DEESIDE LOSE ON OPENING DAY IN SPAIN

Mixed luck for the two Scottish junior golf teams competing on the opening day of the Junior Inter-Club Home Nations golf tournament at Antequera Golf Club on Spain's Costa del Sol.
Craigielaw's team of Gabrielle Macdonald, Marcus Cullen, Jack Dow, Oliver Duffy, Willem Kerr, Lewis Ross and Euan Donaldson beat the juniors of Mallow Golf Club, Ireland 5-1.
Many thanks to Gabrielle for letting Kirkwoodgolf.co.uk know their result.
But Deeside, represented by Craig Lawrie, Lewys Anderson, Benjamin Henderson, Calum Sutherland, Jamie Pryde and Sean Hassard went down 4-2 to another Irish team, Carton House.
Scotland, England (Bramshaw and West Essex), Ireland and Wales (Celtic Manor and Mold) each have two teams competing in a stroke-play match-play format. Deeside are in the opposite section from Craigielaw. The section winners will meet in Monday's final.

ANDREW HENDERSON (Deeside GC junior convener) reports:
