EARNSHAW, REES JOINT THIRD AT MYRTLE BEACH, SOUTH CAROLINA

Post University, Connecticutt students Ross Earnshaw (pictured right) from York and Thomas Rees from  Cardiff finished joint third with 77s in the Southern Swing Invitational tournament over a par-72, 6700yd course at Woodland Valley Country Club, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
A third Post student, Jay Gerrick from London, made his debut in this event and posted an 85.
The tournament was scheduled for two days so presumably one round was wiped out by the lots of bad weather over the eastern American states.
Winner with a 75 was Brandon Moore (Dowling).
Two Scots made the top 10, both students at Davis and Elkins College, Virgina.
Alasdair Forsythe from Glasgow and Christopher Young from Cardross tied for seventh place on 79.
Dowling College (314) pipped Post University (315) for the team title. Davis and Elkins (333) finished fourth of nine teams.


TIFFANY HEWETSON MAKES TOP TEN IN BIG FIELD

Tiffany Hewetson, pictured left, from Brighton, a student at Grand Canyon University, finished joint ninth on 153 (77-76) in a huge field of 116 at the Red Rocks Invitational at Oakcreek Country Club, Sedona in Arizona.
Winners by three shots on 147 was Caitlin McClearly (Seattle (72-75).
Eastern Michigan (603) won the team title by 14 shots from Seattle (617). Grand Canyon (621) finished fourth of 20.
