JANE TURNER FINISHES SEVENTH IN SOUTH AMERICAN CH/SHIP

Craigielaw's Jane Turner finished a creditable seventh in a field of 38 players at the South American women's amateur championship, supported by the R and A, at Cali, Colombia
The Robert Gordon University design student had rounds of 76, 71, 73 and 70 for a total of two-over-par 290.
Starting at the 10th in her final round, Jane did well to shrug off early bogeys, at the 10th and short 12th, parring her way for the rest of her opening nine. Then she came storming home in four-under-par 32 with birdies at the first, short sixth, long eighth and ninth for her best round of the week.
Winner with a five-under-par total of 283 was Argentina's Delfina Acosta with scores of 70, 68, 70 and 75. She won by one shot from Colombia's Natalia Forero (72-70-70-72).
