JESSICA, LAUREN JOINT LEADERS AFTER 36 HOLES AT CARNOUSTIE
Jessica Meek (Carnoustie Ladies) and St Andrews' Lauren Whyte (St Regulus) lead the select field into the third and final round of the Carnoustie girls' invitational tournament on Sunday.
Today's round, over the Burnside course, saw Jessica Meek (pictured top right) match the par of 71 with a bag of seven birdies: the first, second, sixth, eighth, 10th, 16th and 18th. With an 82 from the first round over the Carnoustie championship course on Friday, Jessica is on the 153 mark.
So too is Lauren Whyte (pictured lower right) after a 74 which had birdies at the second, 15th and 16th.
Joint overnight leader Heather Munro (Monifieth) slipped to third place with a 77 for 156.
Rachel Walker (Dumfries and Co) had the third best round of the day, a 75, after starting birdie-eagle.

Lesley Atkins (Gullane Ladies) along with Ailsa Summers (Carnoustie Ladies) fell foul of the fifth hole - a par 3 where they scored 9 and 7 respectively!
