STEPHANIE MEADOW LEADS BY FOUR AT HILTON HEAD ISLAND

LATER NEWS: The second round has been postponed due to severe weather. Play is scheduled to resume at 10 a.m (local time) on Sunday. The tournament has been shortened to 36 holes.

Stephanie Meadow has made a flying start to the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate tournamant at Long Cove Club, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
A four-under-par 67 has given the Alabama University student a four-shot lead over a field that includes three players selected by the United States for the June 8-10 Curtis Cup match at Nairn GC.
Stephanie, from Jordanstown, Northern Ireland but based in America for a number of years, is the highest ranked British or Irish player in the Women's World Amateur Rankings. she was rated No 6 in this past week's updated list.
Stephanie, pictured above by Cal Carson Golf Agency, had a flawless round over the 6,160yd, par-72 Long Cove course with birdies at the fourth, 11th, short 13th and long 15th.
Lying second on 70 is Monlita Sealy (Central Florida).
Three players share third place on 71, include Meadow's Alabama team-mate Brooke Pancake who has been named in the US Curtis Cup team. Also on 71 are Brooke Bealer (Texas Christian) and Spain's Marta Silva Zamora (Georgia).
Scores by other US Curtis Cup team selections  were a 73 by Emily Tubert (Arkansas), who is T10, and Eric Popson (Tennessee) who is T45 on the 77 mark.
There is a field of 81 players.

Rachel Polson joint 1st as Florida Tech beat Augustana

Aberdeen girl Rachel Polson, a freshman student at Florida Tech, shared first place on 79 with team-mate Jessica Hook in a 320-396 victory in a stroke-play match against Augustana College.
Florida Tech outclassed the opposition, filling the first four places in the individual standings.
The match was held at Baytree National Golf Club, Melbourne in Florida over a Par 72 course of 6,078yd.
