ABERDEENSHIRE LADIES BEAT NORTH-EAST DISTRICT YOUTHS


Aberdeenshire women's county golf team won the Modeste Trophy in their annual match against the North-east District Youths at Newburgh.
The format was greensomes under handicap with all the ladies' pairings receiving shots.
The scoreline in games won was 2-2 but they were all played over the full 18 holes and the Shire women were four holes up on aggregate. This won them the trophy.
Results (youths first):
Sam MacNeil (Aboyne) and Ross McKen (Newburgh) lost to Laura Murray (Alford) and Sara Matheson ( Murcar Links) 4 holes
David Tirchir (Fraserburgh) and  Scott Robertson (Hazlehead) lost to Carol Wilson (Murcar) and Jill Harrison (Cruden Bay) 3 holes
Scott Main (Hazlehead) and Kyle Nelson (Murcar Links) bt Fiona Hay (Deeside) and Fiona Hay (Kemnay) 1 hole
Jamie Reid (Cruden Bay) and Jack Walker (Fraserburgh) bt Sammy Leslie (Westhill) and Claire Prouse (Hazlehead) 2 holes
